Moss Point Main Street Association is the catalyst for the preservation and economic revitalization of our historic downtown, urban renewal, and commercial districts by fostering community engagement and leveraging investments to develop a livable community that attracts new jobs, residents, tourism, and commerce.
Initiated in 1980 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Main Street Center provides a framework and leads a national network to support member communities revitalize their historic districts. Mississippi Main Street and the Moss Point Main Street Association utilize the “Main Street Approach” for local initiatives by leveraging local assets – from cultural or architectural heritage to local enterprises and community pride.
The comprehensive strategy fosters incremental improvements in four broad areas – design, economic restructuring, promotion, and organization. Sue Wright, Executive Director of the Moss Point Main Street Association can assist with historic tax credits for commercial development and other preservation efforts.
